Discovering beauty in the ordinary

Discovering beauty in the ordinary

Why “Excelling at Average”?

Why “Excelling at Average”?

Do you ever feel like you’re not an expert at anything in particular?
I do.

Do you ever get discouraged that everyone else seems to excel
and be really good at at least ONE thing (if not more)?
I did (and sometimes still do).

Do you ever feel like you are just average at most everything you do?
I do.

Are you a perfectionist? Do you find yourself paralyzed by your perfectionism?
I used to . . . then I had a breakthrough!

You and I are created in God’s image.
He made us just the way He wants us and chose what talents to give us.

Are we “just average”?
Then let’s excel at being average!

Will you join me in this journey?

“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
(1 Corinthians 10:31)

“Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
(Colossians 3:17)

P.S. – “Excelling at average” does not negate the fact that we should try to learn more and improve in areas of our lives. It does mean that we should do our best with the talents God has given us, whether that means becoming excellent at them or excelling at being average at them. It also does mean we should choose not to compare ourselves with others who we perceive are “better” than us – this will only lead to losing our joy in our Creator and what He has chosen for us.
